The Search
The Versailles Exempted Village Schools’ Board of Education is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Treasurer. The board seeks a visionary team member who has demonstrated success in financial management. The chosen candidate will succeed Interim Treasurer Lori Koch, who will work with the candidate during a transition and training phase.
About the District
The Versailles Exempted Village School District is a highly successful school district, academically, athletically, and in the performing arts. The 2023-2024 local report card results show that the district is now the 5th highest achieving school district in the state of Ohio based upon the Performance Index Score. The school district is located in west central Ohio in the Village of Versailles. In 2010, the district moved into a school complex that houses all students grades K-12. In January 2024, the district completed an approximate $11 million dollar expansion project enhancing opportunities for students in the areas of music and performing arts, athletics, FFA and STEM.
The school district covers approximately 75.5 square miles including the communities of North Star, Yorkshire, Willowdell, Webster, Brock, Frenchtown and the Village of Versailles. District enrollment is 1,250 students in grades K-12. Versailles is located in rural Darke County with easy access to Dayton, Columbus, Cincinnati, Ft. Wayne, and Indianapolis.
There are many area businesses including Midmark, a global manufacturer and supplier of healthcare products, equipment and diagnostic software for medical, veterinary, and dental markets. The local churches and active civic organizations are also very supportive of the school. Versailles is set in a rich agricultural area of the state and offers an excellent environment in which to raise a family. The district is fiscally conservative and its taxpayers have historically been very supportive of the school district with continued levy support, the last of which was a 4-year, 1% income tax renewal which was passed on March 19, 2024 and began collections on January 1, 2025. All property tax levies are continuing levies.
