Girls Basketball
The 7th grade Lady Tigers were defeated by Minster in the semi finals of the MAC tournament on Tuesday, February 4th, 25-41. Claire Bergman and Reagan Raterman led in scoring with 8 points each. Also scoring for Versailles was Mallory Wietholter with 4 points, Elise Stammen with 3 points and Anna Steinbrunner with 2 points. The Lady Tigers finished the season 13-4.
The 7th grade Lady Tigers defeated Coldwater in the first round of the MAC tournament on Saturday February 1st, 30-17. Reagan Raterman was leading scorer with 13 points followed by Elise Stammen with 10 points. Also scoring for Versailles was Claire Bergman with 3 points, Mallory Wietholter with 2 points, and Kenlee Phlipot and Rose Timmerman each with 1 point.
The 7th grade Lady Tigers defeated Delphos St. Johns in their last regular season game 41-15. Reagan Raterman led the Lady Tigers with 20 points. Also scoring for Versailles was Elise Stammen with 7 points, Kenlee Phlipot and Claire Bergman each had 4 points, Anna Steinbrunner had 3 points, Rose Timmerman had 2 points, and Gemma Platfoot had 1 point.
The 8th Grade Lady Tigers lost to Delphos 27-29. The Versailles Tigers played a very good defensive game. The lead scorer for the Lady Tigers was Allison Bergman with 9 points. Also scoring was Kacey Borchers with 7, Callie Schmitmeyer with 3, and Abby Wilker, Emily Phlipot, Theresa Schmitmeyer, and Kyra Bergman all with 2.
The 7th grade Lady Tigers defeated New Knoxville 36-10. Reagan Raterman was leading scorer for Versailles with 13 points followed by Anna Steinbrunner with 6 points. Also scoring for Versailles was Kenlee Phlipot and Bailey Wynk each with 4 points, Elise Stammen with 3 points, and Claire Bergman, Mallory Wietholter, and Rose Timmerman each added 2 points.
The 8th grade Lady Tigers won against New Knoxville with a score of 42-13. The lead scorers for Versailles were Allison Bergman and Abby Wilker both with 10. Also scoring for the Lady Tigers was Kacey Borchers with 7, Taelin Partin with 6, and Theresa Schmitmeyer and Kyra Bergman both with 2. Great win!

The Lady Tigers lost to Russia 29-19 on Saturday January 4th. Our lead scorer was Kacey Borchers with 6 points. Also scoring for Versailles was Taelin Partin with 5 and Abby Wilker with 4, and Emily Phlipot 3 and Kyra Bergman with 1.
The 7th grade Lady Tigers defeated the Russia Raiders on Saturday January 4th, 40-19. Elise Stammen and Reagan Raterman led the scoring attack for the tigers with 14 points each. Also contributing to the scoring column was Anna Steinbrunner with 6 points, Mallory Wietholter with 4 points, and Claire Bergman with 2 points.
The Lady Tigers lost to Miami East 43-13 on Saturday December 28th. Leading Versailles was Allison Bergman with 5 points. Also scoring was Callie Schmitmeyer, Kacey Borchers, Theresa Schmitmeyer, and Kyra Bergman all with 2.
The 7th grade Lady Tigers lost to New Bremen, 18-21. Claire Bergman led the tigers with 9 points. Also scoring for Versailles was Rose Timmerman with 4 points, Mallory Wietholter and Elise Stammen each with 2 points, & Kenlee Phlipot with 1 point.

The 7th grade Lady Tigers defeated Botkins 40-15. Reagan Raterman was the leading scorer with 16 points. Mallory Wietholter also added a big 12 points, followed by Elise Stammen and Claire Bergman each with 6 points.
The 8th grade Lady Tigers lost to Botkins 18-17. The lead scorer was Abby Willer with 5. Also scoring for Versailles was Emily Phlipot & Taelin Parton with 4, Kacey Borchers with 3 & Kyra Bergman with 1.
7th grade Lady Tigers defeated Parkway in a modified 2 quarter game. The score was 13-11. Elise Stammen and Reagan Raterman each had 6 points, and Claire Bergman had 1 point.
8th grade Lady Tigers defeated Parkway, making it a sweep for the jr. high teams. The lead scorer for the Lady Tigers was Allison Bergman with 11. Boys Basketball
On Saturday the 7th grade boys basketball team lost to Coldwater in the MAC tournament 50-26. Scoring. Eli Borchers 6, Troy Gehret 2, Parker Roll 2, Quinten Henry 7, Jacob Meyer 5, Eli Williams 4. The 7th grade boys team ended the season with a record of 7-11 and improved a lot throughout the season.
On 2-6-25 the 7th grade basketball team beat New Knoxville in the opening round of the MAC tournament 47-32. Scoring Eli Borchers 6, Troy Gehret 5, Cooper Phlipot 2, Parker Roll 11, Quinten Henry 15, Jacob Meyer 6, Eli Williams 2.
7th grade boys basketball team beat Fort Recovery 33-27 scoring Troy Gehret 4, Parker Roll 9, Quinten Henry 12, and Jacob Meyer 8.
The 8th grade boys basketball team beat Tri Village in overtime 42-37. A year ago they lost to them by 30 and they got their revenge. They battled the whole game and only gave up 2 points in the second quarter. Scoring was Ian Hemmelgarn-16 Simon Broering-2 Drew Porter-7 Arian Drees-5 Nolan Shardo-2 Asher Ahrens-2 Kade Bergman-8. The team is 9-6 on the season.

On 12-28-24 the Versailles 8th grade boys basketball team beat Miami East 52-9. The tigers dominant the entire game only giving 2 points the first 3 quarters. Everyone did there job. On 12-30-24 the Versailles 8th grade boys basketball team beat Brookville 55-10. Another dominant game from the boys. The last 2 games the tigers have out scored their opponents 107-19. On Monday December 30th, the 7th grade boys basketball team beat Brookville 34-22. Scoring Eli Borchers 2, Troy Gehret 3, Parker Roll 6, Quinten Henry 6, Jacob Meyer 15, and Eli Williams 2.

7th grade boys basketball team beat Parkway 41-29. Scoring- Troy Gehret 3, Cooper Phlipot 2, Easton Dirksen 2, Parker Roll 2, Quinten Henry 12, Jacob Meyer 18, and Eli Williams 2.
8th grade beat Parkway in double overtime 51-46. It was a battle the entire game and the Tigers learned a lot throughout the game. They dug deep for the win. The 7th grade boys team lost to St Henry Monday December 2nd 50-22. Scoring-Eli Borchers 2, Troy Gehret 4, Parker Roll 2, Quinten Henry 4, Jacob Meyer 10
8th grade boys basketball team lost to St Henry 44-46. The Tigers battled hard the entire game. The game came down to the wire with St Henry scoring on a last second shot. Scoring for the Tigers: Ian Hemmelgarn-15 Simon Broering-6 Drew Porter-7 Arian Drees-7 Asher Ahrens-5 Kaden Bergman-4
Wrestling
The Junior High Wrestlers finished their season at Brookville on Tuesday, February 4th. The Tigers won the dual with a team score of 62-26, remaining undefeated throughout the entire season! "This team has shown great leadership throughout the season, on and off the mat," remarked Coach Ryan Bergman. "The eighth graders really took the younger wrestlers under their wings, and it was fun to see how they blended as a team so well. I expect big things from these guys in the coming years!"
The Versailles Junior High Wrestling faced off last Tuesday at home against Coldwater, besting the Cavaliers by a score of 65-24. The Tigers' success continued on Saturday at the Elida Invitational. More than 20 schools were represented, & Versailles emerged the victors once again with a team score of 311 to Wapak's second place score of 232. Individually, the Tigers had wrestlers on the podium in every weight class they wrestled, including the following: Ben Bernholt (1st), Kaleb Goubeaux (2nd), Charlie DeLand (2nd), Ryan Magoteaux (1st), Ian Bergman (1st place-), Wyatt Knapke (2nd), Wyatt Mendenhall (1st), Colton Patton (5th), Sam Stammen (2nd), Gavin Riffell (6th), Russell Winner (5th), Sam Schmitmeyer (1st), Zavier Bergman (2nd) and Ben Kaiser (1st).
The Junior High Wrestlers have one last team dual at Brookville on Tuesday with the high school.
The Versailles Junior High Wrestling team continued their undefeated season last week, both at home and on the road. On Tuesday, January 21st, Versailles hosted Indian Lake and Troy Middle Schools, winning both duals by considerable margins. The team then traveled to the Springboro Invitation on Saturday, to face off against 7 other teams in a dual tournament. The Tigers defeated West Carrollton (85-0), Shanahan (81-10), Springboro (56-30), and Fairfield (60-22). While a number of wrestlers went undefeated on the weekend, Ben Kaiser (8th grade- 205 lbs) was named the tournament's Most Valuable Wrestler. "Ben has been a dominating wrestler for our team all year, and is a great team leader, too. I was glad to see him recognized for his hard work and skills by tournament officials," said Coach Ryan Bergman. The team will host Coldwater Middle School w/ the high school at a dual at home on Tuesday, January 28th.
After a solid win over Covington (80-9) on Thursday night, the Versailles Junior High wrestling team hosted twelve other teams at the Versailles Junior High Invitational on Saturday, January 18th. In pool play, Versailles defeated National Trail (90-0), Coldwater (72-18), Celina (76-9), Brookville (70-16), and Arcanum (90-0). The Tigers faced off against Sidney Junior High in the championship round, claiming a 61-17 victory.
The Versailles Junior High Wrestling team continued their show of dominance on Saturday, January 4 at the Wapak Invitational. With 17 schools competing, Versailles prevailed as champions with 349.5 team points, followed by Wapakoneta (289 points) and Allen East (228 points). "We have a strong team this year, and it's always good to see the hard work we put into practice pay off on the mats during competitions like this," said Coach Ryan Bergman.
Scoring individually were the following wrestlers: Noah Rhoades (1st place- 82 lbs), Ben Bernholt (2nd place- 82 lbs), Kaleb Goubeaux (2nd place- 88 lbs), Charlie DeLand (2nd place- 94 lbs), Charlie Bergman (1st place- 100 lbs), Ryan Magoteaux (3rd place- 106 lbs), Ian Bergman (2nd place- 112 lbs), Wyatt Knapke (5th place- 118 lbs), Wyatt Mendenhall (5th place- 124 lbs), Colton Patton (5th place- 130 lbs), Sam Stammen (3rd place- 136 lbs), Russell Winner (3rd place- 152 lbs), Sam Schmitmeyer (1st place- 162 lbs), Zavier Bergman (5th place- 174 lbs), and Ben Kaiser (1st place- 207 lbs). The junior high team will join the high school team and wrestle against Miami East at Versailles on Tuesday, January 7th in a dual meet.
The Versailles Junior High Wrestling team continued their winning streak with a first place finish at the Coldwater Invitational on Friday, December 27th. Out of 31 teams, Versailles won with with 259.5 team points, followed by Troy with 232.5 points and Tipp City with 222 points. The following wrestlers placed individually for Versailles: Noah Rhoades (1st- 80 lbs), Ben Bernholt (2nd- 80 lbs), Kaleb Goubeaux (2nd- 86 lbs), Charlie DeLand (5th- 92 lbs), Charlie Bergman (2nd- 98 lbs), Ryan Magoteaux (5th- 104 lbs), Ian Bergman (1st- 110 lbs), Wyatt Mendenhall (4th- 122 lbs), Sam Stammen (3rd- 134 lbs), Sam Schmitmeyer (3rd- 160 lbs), and Ben Kaiser (1st- 205 lbs). The JH wrestlers travel to the Wapakoneta Invitational on January 4th before hosting Miami East with the high school team on Tuesday, January 7th.
The Versailles Junior High wrestlers traveled to Vandalia Butler for a quad meet with Beavercreek and Sidney JH. The Tigers were victorious on the day, winning 54-22 over Beavercreek, 69-23 over Sidney and 81-4 over Vandalia Butler. Wrestlers that went undefeated on the day include: Noah Rhoades (80 lbs), Ben Bernholt (80 lbs), Kaleb Goubeaux (86 lbs), Charlie Bergman (98 lbs), Ian Bergman (110 lbs), Colton Patten (128 lbs), Sam Stammen (134 lbs), Sam Schmitmeyer (160 lbs), and Ben Kaiser (205 lbs). The next scheduled meet is the Coldwater Invitational on December 27th.
The JH wrestlers traveled to West Milton to compete in the 50th annual Junior Bulldog double elimination Invitational. The Tigers won the tight team race by scoring 221.5 pts. Troy finished in 2nd place with 216.5 points. Placing individually for the Tigers were: 1st place - Noah Rhoades, Ian Bergman, Sam Stammen, Sam Schmitmeyer, & Ben Kaiser. 3rd Place - Kaleb Goubeaux, Ryan Magoteaux, & Gavin Riffell; 4th Place - Charlie Deland.
