To the Versailles Community,
Next week on Tuesday the 5th is our Annual Evening with the Arts. In addition to the many, many wonderful art and music displays and performances, we want to welcome the greater community out for tours of the new finished spaces in the building. Guided tours will be provided at 4:30, 5:30, 6:30, & 7:30.
To join a tour just meet in the High School gym at any of those times. We will be showing off the new Band room, STEM lab, the Ag shop, and the new weight room.
Additionally, staff from Midmark will be joining to speak about the partnership that is being built and supported to expand Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics through real world problem solving as we work to prepare our students for the future.

Versailles Exempted Village School District income tax renewal facts
Issue 9 is on the ballot to renew a 1.0% income tax that provides funding to Versailles Exempted Village School District. The purpose of this fact sheet is to provide you with financial and factual information related to the 1.0% income tax renewal. This fact sheet is not intended to advocate for or against the passage of the tax renewal.
The 1.0% income tax renewal will generate approximately $2.596 million to the district in the first year of collections. The tax renewal will not increase taxes. Rather, it will maintain the income tax that has been paid by taxpayers since 2012. This funding is on a 4-year renewal cycle:
The income tax was initially passed in 2004 at 3/4%
l Renewed in 2008
l Increased to 1.0% in 2012
l Renewed in 2016
l Renewed in 2020
l Is up for renewal in 2024
Per the current 5-year forecast, funds generated from this renewal represents approximately:
l 14.2% of the total $18,187,524 operating budget for 2025
l 15% of the total $17,300,903 in revenue for 2025
l 14.9% of the total $17,382,585 in expenditures for 2025
This is a “Current Expenses” renewal. This is not for a new project or new expenditure. It is to maintain the programming that is currently in place. Collections would begin on January 1, 2025 and continue to collect for the 4 years of this cycle.
2024 PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY ELECTION | MARCH 19, 2024

On February 21, 2024, as part of National FFA Week, some Versailles FFA Members, staff, and students helped make tie blankets for the event Blanket the World. The students and staff were able to make twenty blankets to send to Rustic Hope in Russia, Ohio. Thank you to everyone who helped make the blankets!

On Saturday, Versailles High School competed in their first ever Aerial Drone Competition at the Greene County Career Center in Xenia. At the competition, students complete Teamwork Matches. In these matches, teams are randomly paired up. The pair of teams try to score as many points as possible in 90 seconds. Points are scored by flying through and around arches and rings, moving balls to various parts of the field, and making precise landings. Students also get the opportunity to work individually. Individually they fly the drone to score as many points as possible in one minute. They also program the drone to score as many points as possible without any human interaction. The Versailles teams had a very successful day. Out of 30 teams, they placed 3rd, 6th, and 10th.

Our next "Versailles Voices Project" participant is George Coons. George is an avid reading, awesome 3rd grade student at Versailles Elementary School.
