Please feel free to share as we are hope to be able to collect as accurate of data as possible.
Attention Class of 2023 graduates.
A Google survey was recently sent to your personal email address from our district EMIS Coordinator, Beth Simons. The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce requires all Ohio districts to collect and report the data requested within the survey from recent graduates. This information provides a better understanding of what Ohio graduates go on to do after high school. Many of these data elements will also appear on our district's accountability reports (ie. local report card).
If you haven't already done so, please take a few minutes to complete the brief survey. Any question can be directed to Beth Simons at 937-526-4427 ext 4114 or beth.simons@vtigers.org.

Good evening TigerCountry,
This is Superintendent Dave Harmon with an update from myself and on behalf of the Board of Education to the greater Versailles Community.
The Board and I wanted to share with you openly and transparently a process that occurred just last night, Thursday, December 21, 2023 as the Board of Education interviewed two highly qualified candidates for the Interim Treasurer position.
Current Treasurer Jackie Kremer has had her next career opportunity present itself. Mrs. Kremer notified the Board of the timing of that particular opportunity being that it is coming rather quickly. As a result, the Board quickly and decisively organized a search process with the goal of finding an Interim Treasurer to fill the role while it does a more exhaustive search for the long term Treasurer position that it will fill in the spring. The Mercer County Educational Service Center is helping with that particular long term search which will take several months and has just recently started with a statewide posting.
In the interim, the Board was very blessed to interview two fine candidates last evening. Following those interviews the Board selected Lori Koch to serve as Interim Treasurer upon the conclusion of Mrs. Kremer’s time in the district. Ms. Koch has many years of fiscal management experience and specifically School District Treasurer experience as she was a local school district Treasurer for the last 13+ years of her career following extensive time at the Auditor of State’s office and being the Finance Director for the City of Vandalia. Following her retirement as a School Treasurer, she has since served several area school districts in both interim and fiscal consultant capacities. Ms. Koch will start her time working side by side with Mrs. Kremer over her last several days and will assume the role of Interim Treasurer upon Mrs. Kremer’s conclusion of service in the district.
We want to thank Mrs. Kremer for her more than 20 years of service in the district and also to welcome Ms. Koch to the team. The Board and I thank you for placing your trust in our leadership as we continue to move the district forward in partnership with this amazing community.
Thank you very much. Have a great evening, a wonderful weekend, and a joyous and blessing filled holiday!
Go Tigers

Further Clarification for the purpose of transparency regarding Thursday's Special Board of Education Meeting.
The language that was included in the earlier public notification is simply copied and pasted from the Ohio Revised Code to both meet the requirement of public notification, but also to state what the Board will be doing in Executive Session.
Thursday's upcoming Special Board of Education meeting is for the purpose of accepting the revised letter of resignation from Treasurer Jackie Kremer. Following that action in open session the Board will go into Executive Session to conduct interviews with potential Interim Treasurer candidates. The language of the Ohio Revised Code is far more "all encompassing" than what will be taking place. Apologies for any confusion that may have caused..
Following the Executive Session is it possible that the Board may return to open session to select a candidate for the Interim Treasurer position. It is also possible that they may not select a candidate at that time.

This communication is to serve as public notice that the Versailles Board of Education intends to hold a Special Board of Education meeting on Thursday, December 21, 2023.
The meeting will take place at 5:30 PM at the Versailles Board of Education office, 459 S. Center Street, Versailles, Ohio 45380.
The purpose of the meeting is for the Board of Education to accept a revised letter of resignation in open session.
Following the Board's regular business, it will enter into an Executive Session where it will consider the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion or compensation of a public employee or official, or the investigation of charges or complaints against a public employee, official, licensee, or regulated individual, unless the employee, official, licensee, or regulated individual requests a public hearing by division (G)(1) of section 121.22 of the Revised Code.
At the conclusion of the Executive Session, it is expected that the Board will return to open session to take further action before the meeting concludes.
Thank you

On Saturday the Versailles High School Robotics Team traveled to Loveland to compete in a robotics competition. Of the four teams from Versailles, one of them was able to qualify for the final tournament. This team was led by Nathaniel Drees and Alex Westgerdes. We also had two teams set their highest Skills competition scores of the season. At a Robotics competition, each team gets six qualifying matches. In a qualifying match, each team gets randomly paired with another team. They take on another team of two robotics to see who can score the most points. Points are scored by being able to launch balls across the field and score them under a goal. After qualifying matches are done, teams are ranked for the final tournament. In the final tournament, the top 16 teams get to select partners for the tournament.
Robotics competitions also have Skill Challenges. Robots are driven and programmed to see how many points they can score on their own.
